1. سَلا القَلبُ إِلّا مِن تَذَكُّرِ لَيلَةٍ

    بِجَمعٍ وَأُخرى أَسعَفَت بالمُحَصَّبِ

    The heart asks for nothing but the memory of a night

    Of a gathering, and another lit by chandeliers,

  2. وَمَجلسِ أَبكارٍ كَأَنَّ عُيونَها

    عُيونُ المَها أَنضَينَ قُدّامَ رَبرَبِ

    And a assembly of virgins whose eyes

    Are like the eyes of startled deer in front of murmuring water.
