Oh night of intimacy whose cups overflowed

Bestowing upon minds the sweetest nectar

Its beauty narrated from Joseph’s beauty glutted

Every heart that felt like Jacob’s longing heart

It has seized our feelings so they incline

To it with the branches of passionate love each robe

Had Jacob’s eye seen it, it would have glutted him

With preoccupation from his yearning heart

Its glorious past has brought it to us with skill

Of far-reaching hand well-versed in every art

And endowed it from its subtlety and left hand

With the marvels of magic ever shifting

And clothed it in a dress from Joseph’s beauty

With no match for that embroidered shirt

And adorned it from Jacob’s tears when he grieved

With necklaces of pearls arranged to dazzle

So it remains a garden quickening for gentlefolk

With the sweet fragrance of its breaths each breeze

The breeze of thankfulness passes through its freshness

Spreading the scent of perfume in every spot
