The noble Banu al-Jalakh wailed as they bade him farewell,
their eyelids stained with their tears when he passed away.
In him they lost a treasure for every grave undertaking,
one to be relied upon—and, in adversity, a sword drawn bare.
Noble-hearted, he lived in fear of God, and his goodness
was devout; in hope of His mercy, he passed away.
And so those who marked his date inscribed upon his grave:
O grave of Ibrahim, may divine favor be your neighbor.
