إِلَيكَ رَكائبُ الآمالِ تَسعى
وَعِندَكَ حُرمةُ الآدابِ تُرعَى
To you do hopes' chariots strive
And in your presence manners thrive
وَبَينَ يَديكَ تَنقادُ الأَماني
فَيَغنَم بَرُّها وَتراً وَشَفعا
Before you wishes walk submissively
So good and mediation profitable becomes
أَفضَتَ عَلى الأَنامِ سجالَ عُرفٍ
بِها وَجبَ الثَناءُ عَلَيكَ شَرعا
You have poured on people customary paths
With which praise on you lawfully obliged becomes
أَيادٍ في الوَرى اِتَّسَعَتْ وَعَمَّتْ
فَما تَرَكَتْ لَنا في الحَمدِ وُسعا
Hands in the land spread and encompassed
Leaving us in praise no capacity
لَئن غَرِقتْ بِفَضلِكَ أَرضُ مَصرٍ
لَقَد لَحِقَ الشآمَ نداكَ هَمْعا
If by your grace Egypt is deluged
Damascus by your calling joined becomes
تَحَدِّثُ عَن عَزائمكِ المَواضي
عَظائمُ لَم تَفتْ في الكَونِ سَمعا
Narrate your firm resolutions the plains
Tremendous which in the universe unheard becomes
مَآثرُ كَالشُموسِ سَرَتْ فَضاءَت
عَلى الأَقطارِ لَم يَترُكنَ صَقعا
Like suns, your glories spread and illuminated
The regions, leaving no horizon untouched
بِاِسمَاعيلَ للعربِ اِفتِخارٌ
إَلَيهِ تَنتَمي حَملاً وَوَضعا
In Ishmael, for Arabs pride abounds
Through him lineage and offspring esteemed becomes
أَجَلّ إِلى العُلى حَسباً وَمَجداً
وَخَيرُ سراتهم أَصلاً وَفرعا
Most high in lineage and glory
And best of their elite root and branch
وَأَكرَمُ كُل ذي كَرمٍ طِباعاً
وَأَعظَمُ مِنةً وَأَبرُّ صُنعا
Most generous of all generous in nature
Greatest in bounty and most righteous in deed
لَقَد ساسَ البِلادَ بِسَيفِ عَدلٍ
بِهِ شُقّتْ صَفاةُ الحُورِ صَدعا
Indeed you ruled the lands with justice's sword
With it split sincerity's essence and heart
وَأَدَّبَ أَنفُسَ الباغينَ رَدعاً
فَما اِتَخَذَتْ سِوى التَسليمِ دِرعا
And the souls of the tyrants with deterrence disciplined
So they adopted only surrender as armor
وَأَعلى للعُلومِ مَنارَ مَجدٍ
أَضاءَ بِهِ فَفاقَ النَجمَ لَمعا
And raised for knowledge a tower of glory
With which, surpassing stars in radiance, it shone
أَلا يا مَن تَطوَّل في البَرايا
بِفَضلٍ لا تُصادفُ مِنهُ مَنعا
Oh you whose bounty in the wilderness spread
With favor that meets no prevention or dearth
وَمَن حَجّت لِكَعبَتِهِ الأَماني
فَأَرجَعَها نَداهُ أَجلَّ رَجعى
And whose aspirations to your Kaaba flocked
Whose call them in most sublime return guided back
دَعا داعي نَداك فَبادَرتَهُ
رِكابُ الحَمدِ تَفري البيدَ قَطعا
Your caller called so you hastened to him
The steeds of praise dashing the desert's breadth
إِذا جِئنا بِمُغرِيَةٍ أَرَتنا
عَظائمَ فَضلِكَ المَأثورِ سَبعا
When we came with admiration you showed us
The tremendous bounties of yours continuous and vast
وَدُونكَ خِدمَةٌ مِن عَبد رَقٍّ
يَروم بِها لُبابَ الحِلم قَرعا
And beyond you service of a pious servant
Who with it the core of forbearance knocks
كِتابٌ جاءَ بَينَ الكُتْبِ بِدعاً
وَقَد أَهدَيتَهُ في الناسِ بِدعا
A book that came uniquely amongst books
Which you gifted uniquely amongst people
إِذا ما نالَ مِنكَ شَريفَ لَحظٍ
فَقد باهى نَفيسَ الدُرِّ وَقعا
If it attains from you a noble glance
It will have dazzled gems and pearls outshone
تَغالى في الحِسابِ فَاخجَلتَهُ
صَنائعُ مِنكَ قَد فاتَتهُ جَمعا
You exceeded in value so it was humbled
By your gifts beyond its counting or grasp
وَما تُحصي الصَحائفُ مِن أَيادٍ
تَضيقُ بِفَضلِها الأَعدادُ رَبعا
And pages cannot enumerate the bounties
Whose abundance diminishes numbers' breadth
سَقى اللَهُ الكَنانةَ صَوبَ عَدلٍ
بِكَفّكَ فاقَ صَوب المُزْنِ نَفعا
God watered your palm with justice's rain
With your palm exceeding the clouds' rain benefits
وَخَيّمَ بَندُ سَعدِكَ في حِماها
فَراحَت دونَها الأَحداثُ صَرعى
And your good fortune's banner o'er it spread
Laying low beneath it tribulations and death
تَدين لَكَ النَواصي خاضِعاتٍ
فَيُكسِبُها الخَضوعُ لَدَيكَ رَفعا
To you surrender all the destinies humbly
And humility before you elevates their worth
وَتَدعو بِالبَقاء لَكَ البَرايا
وَأَنتَ أَجَلُّ مَن في الخَطبِ يُدعى
And the wilds invoke your eternity
While you are most sublime of those called
فَدُم بِالعزِّ مُشتَمِلاً وَدامَت
إَلَيكَ رَكائبُ الآمالِ تَسعى
So endure with honor and last long
To you do hopes' chariots strive
