أهاشمُ لا كفٌّ تصول بساعدِ

بقيتِ ولا كافٍ يقوم بقاعدِ

Alhashem does not cease to attack with his arm,

He remains when there is no one equal to his foundation.

هوى بدركِ الموفي ونجمك ماثلٌ

ضئيلٌ وهل يجديك نجمُ عطارد

His faithful star and moon have set,

Feeble, of no benefit is Mercury's star to you.

طوت منه بطن القاع نجدة قاضب

طرير شبا قطاع ظهر المناجد

He folded the interior of the land Najd's hilly terrain,

The perfume of youth, overpowering the backs of meadows.

وما السيف إلا للرجال قلادة

إذا هو لم يقطع مناط القلائدِ

The sword is but a necklace for men,

If it does not sever the area of necklaces.

أتيح له الموتُ الزؤام بمبرم

لوى من لوي البطش فتل السواعدِ

Death, disappointment, was made easy for him,

He twisted with the twisting of strength, so the arms were severed.

فيا صدمة صكَّت لتَصدَعَ بالصفا

وتأخذ نحتاً من متونِ الجلامدِ

So attack, you who were forged to shatter through valor,

And take some carving from the cores of frozen statues.

ويا روعةً روعاء في الأفق جلجلت

سواداً رمت فيه بياض الفراقدِ

And fright, frightening in the horizon it thundered,

Blackness it cast therein whitening tombs.

لعمَّتِ وإن خصت قريشاً باوجع

رمى كبشها بالمرجفات الأوابدِ

Though it singled out Quraish with the most pain,

Its lightning struck the towering white mountain peaks.

لقَد هدَمت سوراً لهاشم صيخدا

أشمَّ حديد الركن صعبَ المصاعدِ

It demolished a wall for Hashem loud as a shriek,

The iron edge smelled - ascent is difficult.

وقد عجَمَت بالأمسِ سمراء صعدة

ليعربَ لم تُعجم بشقّ المبارد

Just yesterday, the brown horseman of Sa'dah ascended,

To Arabize whom no twisting of swords could Arabize.

وفلَّت ظبي قضبٍ لعدنان بتَكٍ

فردَّت ظباها ثلَّما للمغامدِ

It released a white mountain goat to drink from 'Adnan's spring,

So its mountain goats returned torn to pieces for the lairs.

وعضَّت نيوب الدهر غرابَ مُطرد

يشلُّ بنات الدهر شل الطرائدِ

The fangs of time bit an expelled raven,

That paralyzes the girls of time with the paralysis of prey.

لعاً لكَ من كابٍ تكعكع عاثراً

بزلة مقدام على الهول عامد

Curse upon you, from a pitcher pouring clumsily, stumbling,

With the stumble of Muqaddam unafraid of horror and aiming below glory, ascending the difficult slopes.

تقحَّم دون العز صعب مواردٍ

وما زال حتى راض صعب المواردِ

He continued until he was pleased with ascending the difficult slopes,

And attained far-off objectives deceitfully,

ونال بعيدات المنال خوائبا

بمختبآت في شدوق الأساود

With deceptions in the interiors of deep black nights.

So woe to a time how it betrayed you treacherously,

فواهاً لدهرٍ كيف غالك غاشما

برصدٍ وكم قد غلتهُ بالمراصدِ

With lying-in-wait, and how much it has betrayed with ambushes!

So light the ancient fire for the dwellings,

فيا موقدَ النار العتيقة للقرى

فنارك أولى نار حيٍّ لواقدِ

For your fire is the first fire of one living and watching.

When it weakens it inclines to it resembling

إذا فترت مالت إليها تشبهاً

على الهضبات الحمر أيدي الولائدِ

Upon the red plateaus the hands of young women waving.

After it, the gentle one will volunteer leading

فمن بعدهُ يولي الطريف موفرا

ويتبعُ موفورَ الطريف بتالدِ

And he will follow the volunteered gentle with succession.

O Abu Salih, and patience the most glorious deeds,

أبا صالحٍ والصبر ظهر أماجدٍ

يقوم برزءِ الأكرمين الأماجدِ

He will establish the honor of the most honorable glorious deeds.

So trust in your fine patience nobly,

فثق بجميل الصبر منك تكرما

فصبرُ الفتى أكرومة في المشاهدِ

For the patience of the youth is the most generous in scenes.

Do not let wisdom escape you as one

ول يعزبنَّ الحلم عنك فواحدا

كالفٍ والفٌ حلمهم حلمُ واحدِ

Sufficient, his wisdom and other's is wisdom of one.

You beatified the weakness of the religion standing with the matter,

تداركتَ وهنَ الدين بالأمر قائماً

وما زلت حتى شدته بالقواعدِ

And you continued until you strengthened it with foundations.

You vitalized guarding the noble Shariah, witnessing,

كلأت حمى الشرع الشريف مشاهداً

بعينك ترعاه وغيرَ مُشاهدِ

With your eye overseeing it without witnessing.

You erected for it in time an attentive ear,

نصبت له في الدهر أذناً سميعة

وطرفا طموحَ اللحظ ليس براقدِ

And an ambitious gaze - not sleeping.

So blood, but the loftiest prizes for you in Ashbal forest,

فدم ولك السلوى بأشبل غابةٍ

ضواريَ أضرى من أسودٍ لوابدِ

Predators more harmful than black seasoned wolves.

With houses at the horizons of the sky towering,

بدورٍ بآفاق السماء شوارق

بحرر بدقّاع العطاء روافدِ

And free-flowing sea of gifts with pouring tributaries.

They have surely testified for them against them the highest testimony,

لقد شهدت منهم عليهم لهم علّا

بغرّ المساعي وهي أصدق شاهدِ

With the superiority of deeds, and it is the most truthful witness.
