أجل يادرة التاج

No crowned Caesar

Is as graceful as you, O crown of beauty

أقمت الخال سلطانا

بخد منك وهاج

Your moles made beauty a ruler

With a cheek that kindled desire

وقيدت سنا النار

بماء فيه ثجاج

And your brilliant teeth restrained

The fiery stars with cooling water

شربنا الكاس اسفنطا

بعينٍ لك مغناج

We drank from the crystal cup

With eyes full of passion for you

أنر يا قمر الأرض

بهالات وأبراج

Shine, O moon of the earth

With glories and high towers

ولح يا كوكب الصبح

بليل الشعر الداجي

Rise, O morning star,

In the dark night of my flowing hair

حناناً يا أخا الظبي

بأمشاجي وأنشاجي

Have mercy, O gazelle brother

On my yearnings and sighs

ومن ينجو من الحب

فلست اليوم بالناجي

He who survives love
