She traversed the plains of Yathrib and the hills,
On a docile she-camel folding up the valleys,
She continued folding the hollows and meadows,
And crossed the barren lands and vast deserts.
Whenever she sets forth chaos stirs up,
For the face of the sun she weaves a veil,
The perils leer at her like a glowing coal,
It plunges into the tumultuous sea from the stench.
Hizbir of Bani al-Karrar has become,
Inciting for turmoil a furious lion.
On the morrow when the bells of war stirred up,
To overtake with the Cavalry her seeking ones.
So think about them a roaring lion,
It has taken the pass of al-Khati its den.
Whenever she recruits and prepares the pastures,
The open spaces in Bani Harb narrow.
And Hibat made them head with Harb bin Ziyad,
By al-Hijr tough coats of mail.
So one girds himself for death pouring himself,
Like pouring of Mutaym and her seeking alike.
While the other in the foe goes in the morning to return,
Breaking in their chests the millstones.
Until she left among them bodies—
You see the blood dies them with its stain
And he turns searching the time a glance,
Calling for help but none shall respond.
So whatever he did terrible fear spread,
Dark for war, chaotic in its chaos.
He rages time and again,
With brown polished sword that shears the necks.
And most frightening, not frightened by death,
When it approaches pulling him violently.
He shakes fully armed and pours his anger,
Like the flashing of lightning aflame.
Keen to strike, a piercing well-made sword,
That refused but to have the necks as its feast.
They threw—and were thrown—the arrows of death until,
When they missed a target they’d hit.
Until he fell bloodstained his coat,
The gusts of wind walking away with it.
