1. على القلب جل الشوق يسعى وخيَّما

    وكان به عشق فصار متيّما

    My heart is full of longing and desire

    And it has become enamored and admiring

  2. وما ذاك والرحمن عشق لغادة

    خدلَّجة كالعاج صفواً ولا لما

    It is not mere infatuation with a beauty

    Whose cheeks are like ivory, pure and smooth

  3. يهيم به المفتون من شرب قهوة

    وعزف قيان أو لطبل ترنما

    It admires the one enthralled when drinking coffee

    Or playing the oud and drums melodiously

  4. ولكن لعزف الخيل يوماً بوقعة

    ترى الطفل فيها بالقتير معمما

    Rather, it admires the melody of galloping horses

    In a battle where a boy sees the war turbaned

  5. تصول بها الأبطال نصراً لدينهم

    وتملا رحاب الأرض بالفرث والدما

    The heroes advance victoriously for their religion

    Filling the land with corpses and blood

  6. فتلك التي واللّه يصبح بعدها

    أخو الحسد المذموم بالكبر مرغما

    After which those envious and arrogant with pride

    Become defeated and forced to be silent

  7. ويعلم أن الحق مذ كان لم يكن

    بغير العوالي والعناجيج والكما

    And it knows that truth has always

    Been with the sublime, outstanding and perfect

  8. وأن له بالسيف عزاً ومنعة

    إِذا سل يوماً أصبح الدين قيما

    And that by the sword there is honor and refuge

    If one day the religion becomes feeble

  9. وأن رسول اللّه أسر عصبة

    ببدر ولم يثخن فصار ملوَّما

    And that the Messenger of God defeated a group

    At Badr and did not waver, so he was garlanded

  10. لقول إلهي جلّ كاد عذابنا

    يمسكم لولا كتاب تقدما

    By the word of the Majestic God, almost our punishment

    Would have touched you, if not for a prior Book

  11. وإِن هجوم المسلمين مصوَّب

    على كل من ناوى وعاش محرّما

    And the Muslims' attack is directed

    Against all those with evil intentions living forbidden

  12. وإن عليّ بن الحصين إِمامنا

    رآى قتل أهل البغي في اللّه مغنما

    Ali bin Al Hussein is our Imam

    Who sees killing the corrupt for God as profitable

  13. لقد قال يوماً في قديد لجيشه

    أجيزوا على من فرّ أو كان مجثما

    One day in Qadid he said to his army

    Finish off those who flee or huddle stunned

  14. كذا قال للمختار في آل مكة

    أطعني ولا ترجم بقولي فتندما

    He said this to Al Mukhtar about the people of Mecca

    Obey me and do not hesitate with my words and regret

  15. وكل زمان فيه حكم وإنهم

    يخونونك الميثاق والعهد والدما

    Every era has its leaders, and they

    Betray you, the pact, the blood and the promise

  16. فلو كان في الأحيا أبو الحرّ لم ينم

    ولم تضمن الأجفان أسيافنا الظما

    If Abu Al Harr was alive, he would not sleep

    Our swords would not be sheathed to rest

  17. ولا قهرت أيتامنا وضعافنا

    ولا كان فينا منهج الحق أطسما

    Our orphans and weak would not be oppressed

    Nor would the path of truth be more crooked

  18. ولكنه ولّى وأصبح بعده

    رجال يرون الذل في السلم سلَّما

    But he passed away and after him came

    Men who see humiliation in peace to be normal

  19. أولئك أقوام شروا وتخيروا

    بأخراهم والعدل والدين درهما

    They are people who do immorality and choose

    Their wicked ones, justice and religion as a dirham

  20. أولئك أقسا من حجار جلامد

    وأضعف من دم إِذا ما تسقَّما

    They are harder than solid rock

    And weaker than blood when it is contaminated

  21. أولئك والرحمن عن أخذ رأيهم

    نهاك ابن محبوب وقد كان محكما

    They and the Merciful, the son of the beloved prohibits

    Seeking their opinion, and he was decisive

  22. أقول لمن أضحى ضنيناً ودّاً بعرسه

    وقرَّ بها واكتن عني وخيّما

    I say to the one who has become miserly in love

    Draws near to it, and hides from me to reside

  23. وعزز أهل الفسق ودّاً وخيفة

    ولم يخش رحماناً له الأرض والسما

    And empowers the corrupt affectionately and fearfully

    And does not fear our Lord, the heavens and sky

  24. وحاول ذم الدين إِذ لم يجد له

    سوى الطعن فيه مستلاذاً ومعصما

    And tries to defame religion when he doesn't find

    Anything but accusations in it, taking it as a refuge and shelter

  25. تعلى إلي نحو الامام فإنه

    إِذا زاغ شبراً عاد إِن كان مسلما

    Come closer to the Imam as he is the one

    Who if deviates an inch, returns if he is a Muslim

  26. وقام بما حمّلته متكرماً

    وكنت لديه في الوغى منقحما

    And takes responsibility generously

    While I would be bursting forth in the battle for him

  27. وإن كنت في الاسلام أثبت مطعناً

    فحسبك ما قد صرت فيه من العما

    And if you have decided I'm disgraced in Islam

    Sufficient for you is what you've become certain of from blindness

  28. فليس الذي أصبحت فيه بهين

    ولكنه واللّه أصبح معظما

    That in which you've become is not disgraceful

    But, by God, it has become revered

  29. أغرك لما صرت بالبعد خالياً

    فما قل من أضحى خلياً ومفحما

    Does the estrangement delude you after you became

    Emptied, and few have become estranged and attained eminence

  30. فأيّ زكاة أو جهاد وأيمَّا

    نكاح وقد أصبحت عندي مذمما

    What charity, jihad, marriage now

    When you have become condemned with me

  31. إذا غللت كف بمنع زكاتها

    والقائها سيف البلا إذ تصرما

    When you rob the palm of its due zakat

    And cast the sword of affliction when it becomes old

  32. ستلفح نار الخلد وجهاً عن الهدى

    لوى حسداً من بعد ما كان أقسما

    The hellfire will scorch the face that turned away from guidance

    Twisting with envy after once taking oaths

  33. دع الطعن في الاسلام واحذر عواقباً

    تحلك دار الفاسقين جهنما

    Leave defaming Islam and beware consequences

    That make you inhabit the home of Hell fire

  34. دع الحسد المذموم والكبر إنني

    أراك حريصاً أن أكون محرما

    Leave the blameworthy envy and arrogance, I see

    You keen to make me deprived

  35. ذكرت بأني لا أبالك مجرم

    بتركي لغسل الناكثين تغشما

    You mentioned that I don't care, you criminal

    By leaving the washing of the oath-breakers wrathful

  36. ولم ترتقب إلا ولا ذمة ولم

    تكن في الذي قد رمته متوسما

    And you did not anticipate anything but lack of covenant and honesty

    And you were not hoping for good in what you threw

  37. أكنت بصفين فشاهدت غسلهم

    أأم بقديد كنت إذ رمت مكلما

    Did you see their washing in Safina, or were you

    In Qadid when you threw pebbles stunned?

  38. ألما يقل ذو العرش في قوله ولا

    تصل على من مات منهم فاعلما

    Does He of the Throne not say in His words “And do not

    Pray over those who die of them”—so know!

  39. وهل فعلوا غير القعود بأرضهم

    خلاف رسول اللّه إذ سار وارتمى

    And did they do anything other than sit in their land,

    Unlike the Messenger of God, when he marched and flung himself?

  40. كأنك لم تعلم بأني عالم

    بسيرة أهل العدل ممن تصرما

    It’s as if you don’t know that I’m knowledgeable

    Of the conduct of the people of justice, of those who hurl

  41. وهل أنا إلا تابع لسبيلهم

    وهل لي إلا منهج الحق منتمى

    Am I anything but a follower in their path?

    Do I have anything but the course of truth as my belief?

  42. رأيت صلاح الدين فيما أتيته

    وذو العرش علاّم بما بان وانتمى

    I saw Saladin in what I came to him

    And the Lord of the Throne is All-Knowing of what was elucidated and believed

  43. وليس لمأموم إذا ما أمامه

    أشار بشيء أن يقول لما وما

    A congregation member, when the imam gestures something

    Cannot say “No” and “What” to him

  44. كفاك لأني تبت لما تركتهم

    عن الصلت يوماً حين كنت موهما

    Enough for you that I repented when

    I left them from praying for them one day when I was deluded

  45. أعيذك بالرحمن يا من تعذرت

    عليه لفوظ الخير أن يمسك الفما

    I seek refuge for you through the Merciful, O you

    Who are difficult for good words to touch your mouth

  46. فما قمت في أمس فنرجوك في غد

    ولم تترك الأهوا فتدعا مكرَّما

    For yesterday has passed so we hope for you tomorrow

    And you have not left caprice so be honored

  47. وخذها ففيها مستلاذ وعصمة

    لمن حث في حرب العداة وصمما

    Take them, for in them is shelter and protection

    For whoever stirred in the war of enemies and was resolute

  48. ولكنها تسقي الحسود ومن سقى

    عقول ضعاف الدين بالشك علقما

    But it makes the envious drink and the ones whose thirst was quenched

    Of the intellects of the weak in religion with doubt are muzzled

  49. على أنني أحكمتها وجعلتها

    لقطع المعاذير المخلات مصرما

    Since I ruled them and made them

    To cut off the disobedient excuses firmly

  50. لكي لا يموت الدين بعد أولي النهى

    لقول ضعيف مفتن إن تكلما

    So that religion does not die after the first prohibitors

    For the saying of a misguided weak one if he speaks

  51. وسميتها الزهراء لما تألقت

    وصارت لأهل الدين والعلم معلما

    I named it Az-Zahra for how it shone

    And became a landmark for the people of religion and knowledge

  52. وأتممتها بالشكر والحمد والثنا

    لرب حباني بالجهاد وأكرما

    And I completed it with gratitude, praise and lauding

    For the Lord Who blessed me with jihad and honored me

  53. ونزهني عن وصف من كان عابداً

    على جرف هار وزار جهنما

    And saved me from describing someone who was

    A worshipper on the edge of a blazing Hell fire

  54. وأيدني نصراً بأكرم أمة

    رعية وادي حضرموت المنظما

    And supported me with victory by the most generous nation

    A flock of the valley of Hadramawt, the systematic

  55. ولكن ترى فيهم على الأرض أنجما

    كما قد ترى في الجو بالليل أنجما

    But you see in them the stars on earth

    As you may see stars in the sky at night

  56. سلام على الاخوان في الدين أينما

    تولوا لسفر أو أرادوا مخيما

    Peace be upon the brothers in religion wherever

    They turned for travel or camped

  57. وصلى على المختار أحمد ربنا

    وصلى عليه ثم صلى وسلما

    And bless the Chosen One Ahmad our Lord

    Blessed him then blessed and greeted
