1. من لم يتب قبل اهتزاز الباتر

    لاقى الردى تحت العجاج الثائر

    Whoever does not repent before the trembling of the spark

    Will find ruin under the raging torrents

  2. يا ويح أهل الجور من جور الظبى

    من غير جورو الوشيح الشاجر

    Oh woe to the people of injustice from the injustice of the prey

    Without the injustice of the howling winds and the whistling tree

  3. إن ساءني من ساخر مقت فلا

    بد غدا من جدع أنف الساخر

    If the mocker's mockery saddens me, I must

    Tomorrow sever the nose of the mocker

  4. يا لائمي في الكف عن حرب العدا

    أنت الرضي فالعذل فيه عاذري

    Oh you who blame me for ceasing to fight the enemies

    You are the content one, and the excuse lies with the blamer

  5. لا عن مزاح رمت ما قد رمته

    فليحذر المغرور قطع الدابر

    I did not throw except in jest what I have thrown

    So let the arrogant beware of cutting ties

  6. صبراً قليلاً أو تراني راكباً

    في سرج طرف أعوجيّ ضامر

    Have patience a little while, or you will see me riding

    On a saddle with twisted straps, worn out

  7. ما رمت إلا ربيعة أورثتها

    من كابر عن كابر عن كابر

    I threw stones only at the Banu Rabee'ah tribe I inherited

    From a conceited ancestor, from a conceited ancestor

  8. لا تفتر إن شمت وجهي مشرقاً

    في القوم والأخيار تحت الجافر

    Do not rejoice if you see my face radiant

    Among the people, while the good are under the dust

  9. في القلب من ضيم الأعادي جذوة

    اطفاؤها إهراق دام قاطر

    In my heart from the oppression of enemies is an ember

    Whose extinguishing is the pouring of an endless rain

  10. إن لم يكن فعلي بغيظي ناطقاً

    فالغيظ مني زفرة في الخاطر

    If my anger does not speak through my actions

    Then my rage is an exhalation in my thoughts

  11. كيف اصطباري والعذارى من بني

    قطحان في أسواق بيع الباقر

    How can I be patient when the virgins of the Banu

    Qahtan are sold in markets from one merchant to another

  12. الدين والدنيا معاً في حرب من

    أيامه أيام عز العاهر

    Religion and life together are at war since

    His days are the days of the glory of the shameless one

  13. واللّه لا أقلعت عن حرب العدا

    إلا بموت أو بعز قاهر

    By God, I will not cease to fight the enemies

    Except by death or by victorious conquest

  14. لا تنجلي الغماء عن هذا الورى

    إلا بطعن أو بضرب فاغر

    The gloom over the land will not lift

    Except by a piercing stab or a gaping wound

  15. لا نلت محبوباً إذا لم أنقذ ال

    أديان من كف الغويّ الفاجر

    I will not attain the beloved if I do not save the

    Religions from the grasp of the transgressing betrayer

  16. إني امرؤ وقد بعت نفسي جهرة

    في اللّه لا بيع الغوي الخاسر

    I am a man who has openly sold himself

    To God, not to the losing betrayer

  17. إني وإن لم تعرف التقوى فقد

    أعددتها حتفاً لحرب الكافر

    Even if you do not recognize piety, I have

    Prepared it as the doom for the war against the unbeliever

  18. كم مسجد أضحى خراباً بعد ما

    قد كان معموراً بذكر الذاكر

    How many a mosque lies in ruins after once

    Having been inhabited by the remembrance of the devout

  19. أين التراويح التي قد سنها

    ليث الورى الفاروق صنو الطاهر

    Where are the Tarawih prayers that

    The lion of the world, the Praised Purifier, had instituted

  20. ما بال شهر الصوم لاصوم به

    ما بال تحليل السلاف الخامر

    What is the matter with the month of fasting, no fasting in it

    What is the matter with the sweet relaxation of wine

  21. يا حرمة الاسلام يا دين الهدى

    يا حرمة الذكر المنير الزاهر

    O sanctity of Islam, O religion of guidance

    O sanctity of the enlightening splendid remembrance

  22. يا أمة المختار هذا نفرنا

    فاستنصروا فيه بنصر الناصر

    O chosen nation, this is our mustering

    So seek victory through the aid of the Victorious Helper

  23. فالنفر في الأطراف نفر فاتر

    والنفر في أوطاننا كالفاتر

    But the mustering on the frontiers is listless

    And the mustering in our lands is like the apathetic

  24. أين العوالي والمذاكي والظبي

    أم أين أهل الانتجاد الشاهر

    Where are the high-minded and the zealots and the prey

    Or where are the people of glorious valor?

  25. يا ربة الخلخال يا ذات الحيا

    يا ربة اللبس النفيس الفاخر

    O she with anklets, O she with vitality

    O she with fine luxurious garb

  26. أبكي بني قحطان إن لم ينقذوا

    بالبيض بيضاً دمعها كالماطر

    I weep for the Banu Qahtan, if they do not save

    The whites whose tears flow like rain

  27. كم ذات خلخال وكشح أهضم

    مجلوبة من تاجر في تاجر

    How many ankleted and bejeweled women

    Were brought by traders from trader to trader

  28. ما بعد هذا العار من عار ولا

    يغضي عليه غير نكس صاغر

    After this disgrace, there is no disgrace, nor

    Does anything diminish it but the bowing of heads

  29. إن المنايا دون ذا لكن متى

    ألقى أخا أنف وقلب حاضر

    Though death is inevitable, when will I meet

    A brother of harmonious mind and willing heart?

  30. قد نال قبلي أحمداً ضيم العدا

    حتى حبى نصراً بنصر الناصر

    Before me, it afflicted Ahmed, victim of enemies

    Until he was granted victory through the aid of the Victorious Helper

  31. صلى عليه ذو العلا ظهراً وفي

    عصر وفي وقت العشا والباكر

    Blessings upon him, Lord of the Heights, at noon

    And evening and morning prayer times
