1. لا تجزعي من منهضي ورحيلي

    واستبشري إِن مت أو لقفولي

    Do not grieve for my rising and departure,

    And rejoice if I die or return,

  2. إِني امرؤ هاجرت أرجو ما رجا

    من فارق الدنيا لغير سبيل

    I am a man who migrated hoping for what

    Those who left the world for no cause had hoped,

  3. لو تعلمين بحالتي لم تحمدي

    نومي ولا أبكاك خطب رحيلي

    If you knew my state you would not praise

    My sleep, nor would my departure make you weep,

  4. حتى متى أثوى بأرض عطلت

    منها حدود اللّه نحو رُذول

    How long will I live in a land that has

    Banned the laws of God and become vile,

  5. يثني بدار الخزي وهنٌ أبلد

    قد قيدت أقدامه بكبول

    Which humiliates the brave and shackles

    Their feet in chains,

  6. لا يحسب السفهاء أني منثن

    عن عزمة همَّت بأمر ثقيل

    The foolish do not think I will waver

    From my resolve in a grave matter,

  7. لا بد من حل ورحل وابتغا

    قوم أولي بأس لهم وخيول

    There is no choice but to depart and seek

    A people of courage who have steeds,

  8. قد يعرفوا من همتي ما يعرفوا

    من محضري يوم الوغى ونهول

    They may recognize what they recognize

    Of my zeal on the day of clamor and descent,

  9. حسبي أسىً من قولهم إني امرؤ

    يمَّمت إِلاَّ مرتج لسئول

    It is enough grief for me what they say, that I am a man

    Who has set out only for the worthless,

  10. من أجل بعد قد رأوا أم يحسبوا

    أن الاخا في الدين غير أثيل

    Is it because of the distance they saw

    Or do they think brothers in faith are not loyal,

  11. ما بال بلج وابن عوف أقبلا

    أيام عبد اللّه صدر رعيل

    What of Bilal and Ibn ‘Awf who set out

    In the days of ‘Abdallah at the forefront,

  12. فكفى بهم إِن لم أزرهم جحفلاً

    أطفي به أحزان كل غليل

    They suffice me, even if I do not join them with an army,

    To quell with it the sorrows of every anguish,

  13. إِن الذي جشمت نفسي قصده

    مستنصراً للدين غير خذول

    What I have determined for myself to pursue,

    As a supporter of the faith, not failing,

  14. هل من حميّ الأنف يرمي ما ارتمى

    سيف إِلى كسرى لقصد خليل

    Is there one proud who can shoot an arrow

    At Chosroes intending to meet the Friend,

  15. قد عالج الاخوان ليلاً مثل ما

    عالجتها في جنح ليل طوبل

    The brothers have treated the nights as I

    Treated them in the wings of long nights,

  16. حسبي بنجلي أحمد أو بالفتى

    من طارق في رحلتي وحلولي

    It suffices me my son Ahmad or the youth

    From Tariq among my equipment and arrival,

  17. أكرم بهم من فتية أكرم بهم

    ناديهم نادي حمى وجميل

    I honored among the finest youths, I honored them

    Calling them the tribe of zeal and beauty,

  18. ما موقفاً واقفتهم إِلاَّ بكوا

    دين الهدى عن حرقة وعويل

    Never have I placed them except they wept

    For the religion of guidance from burning and wailing,

  19. يا معبد يا أحمد سيراً فقد

    سار الرضا عبد الاله خليلي

    O Ma’bad O Ahmad travel, for satisfaction

    Traveled Abdulillah my dear friend,

  20. وارموا بنا نحو الخليل المرتضى

    المفزع المأوى لكل دخيل

    And head with me to the approved Friend,

    The refuge, sanctuary for every newcomer,

  21. ذاك الذي جلى عمانا بعدما

    واراهم غيم الطغى بذيول

    He who manifested Oman after

    The cloud of injustice had covered them with its trails,

  22. ذاك الذي يخطو خطا من صارفي

    وادي القرى أو آسك ونخيل

    He who travels a path taken by the turning

    Valleys of Quray or the Askar and palms,

  23. ذاك الذي أبدا لنا ما قد مضى

    من راشد والصلت وابن رحيل

    He who showed us what had passed

    From Rashid, Al Salt and the son of departure,

  24. ذاك الذي لما يزل مستلئماً

    للّه في المستلئمين عدول

    He who has never ceased to blame

    The Allah-blaming among the unjust,

  25. يا خير خلّ في الاله أجب أجب

    ناداك اخوان بوجه قبول

    O best successor in God, answer, answer

    The call of brothers with acceptance

  26. يا خير خل خرّبت أوطاننا

    واستعبد السفاه كل نبيل

    O best successor, our homelands are in ruins

    And the ignorant enslave all the nobles,

  27. يا خير خل لم نطق دفع الأذى

    عن أخذ مكنون وجذّ نخيل

    O best successor, we cannot speak of preventing harm

    From taking the hidden, and stripping the palm trees,

  28. يا خير خل لو ترى من نحونا

    من شقشقات البغي بعد صهيل

    O best successor, if you could see what faces us

    Of the neighing of tyranny after the neighing,

  29. يا خير خل هل لنا من راحة

    مما لدينا من دناة غفول

    O best successor, is there any rest for us

    From the wrongdoers among us, heedless,

  30. يا خير خل من بقي من بعدنا

    أضحى لدى المحراب ضرب طبول

    O best successor, those who remain after us

    Have become drums beaten at prayer niches,

  31. يا خير خل غالنا ما غالكم

    فيما مضى من ديلم وعقيل

    O best successor, we have strained for what strained you

    In the past from the Delam and ‘Uqayl,

  32. يا خير خل أصبحت أسواقنا

    أسواق سحت واعتدا ومحول

    O best successor, our markets have become

    Markets of debauchery, transgression and corruption,

  33. يا خير خل حسبنا أن الفتى

    يجزي الفتى كيلا بصاع مكيل

    O best successor, it is enough for us that the youth

    Rewards the youth in full and honest measure,

  34. يا خير خل قد غلبنا فانتصر

    وانظر لنا في رأي عزم أصيل

    O best successor, we are overcome so be victorious,

    And look after us with sound resolute counsel,

  35. واعلم بأن المال إِن أسديته

    دون الورى لم تغشه بقبول

    And know that wealth, if you bestow it

    On the people, you have not deceived them in acceptance,

  36. واغفر خطايا مذنب إِذ قال ما

    لم ترضه لما عني بسئول

    And forgive the sins of a sinner when he says what

    Does not please you from a worthless one,

  37. والنار مثواه وحسب قعرها

    إِن رام هذا الافتخار وحيل

    And Hellfire is his abode, and the bottom of it is enough

    If he desires this boasting and tricks,

  38. والحمد للّه الذي قد قدست

    أسماؤه عن والد وسليل

    And praise to Allah who has sanctified

    His names from a parent or offspring,

  39. ثم السلام الأطيب السامي على

    مبعوثه الأميّ خير رسول

    Then the finest, highest peace upon

    His unlettered Messenger, the best of messengers.
