They rode the cups of wine
And sleep sought the long night
They yearn for Najd - good tidings, O Najd!
The loamy soil will envy your richness
I stood in their valley - I see naught
Its white wrists amid what I see
I ask where the perfume of wild thyme
And chant, where are the lions of valor?
Had you but seen me in it
You'd recall a fair one in the valley of villages
