O fragrance whose dwelling is Fez
However the sun rises, it is outshone
By your temples in your cheeks that revealed
Where roses and myrtle were planted
And your soft waist that bent with delight
Is it a branch for a doe to graze?
Your lashes suffice as wine, and your cheek
From which your breath flows
Give me no wine after them
For they have done what cups do
A smooth-cheeked doe with a lovely glance
She feeds her fawns in the thickets
His attributes did to my heart such torment
As the breeze does to the pliant branch
Like a bough shaken over a hillock
Like dawn risen beneath a gloomy night
Abu al-Walid, you have understood a passionate lover
Whose harsh arrows pierce the miserable
