I lament the ruins of their dwelling place

And ask the gentle breeze about them

In me is a yearning from the gazelles of Najd

Rivaling the branch and the swaying palm

I say, since the day they hid away

My eyes wept and my tears flowed

My heart and eyes hated the dwellings

So how did my inner self accept a new home
