ألاَّ يني القلب منه في شغلِ

By the one whose love made me swear

That my heart would know no other preoccupation,

هزَّت بريح الشباب قامته

وأُدميت وجنتاه بالقبل

The wind of youth shook his stature,

And his cheeks were reddened by kisses.

فانقدَّ قدُّ القضيبِ من دَهَشٍ

واحمرَّ خدُّ الشقيقِ من خجل

So he straightened, amazed,

And the apple of his cheek blushed in shyness.
