أعيون رمت بقلبي النبالا

ام ظباء الجفون تبغى القتالا

Eyes have cast arrows into my heart

Are they does with eyelids seeking battle?

ام قدود سمر تنادي النزالا

طاعنات لمن يروم الوصالا

Or ebony bows calling for combat?

Stabbing those who long for union

ام ظباء بحاجر وزرود

تصرع الاسدام تصيد الرجالا

Or does with brows and cheek mole

That fell lions and hunt men

ام بدور طوالع مسفرات

ام شموس ليلا ترينا الهلالا

Or full moons rising unveiled

Or night suns showing us the crescent

ام هم في الجمال ولدان عدن

ام يزيدون نضرة وجمالا

Or are they, in beauty, lads of Eden

Who increase in radiance and perfection

ان قلبي لا يستطيع المطالا
