ومهفهفٍ قلق الوشاحِ يروعُهُ
جَرسُ السّوار ويشتكي من ضيقهِ
The tinkling of her bracelet troubles the sleepless lover,

وسنان خطَّ المسكُ فوق عِذراهِ
لاماً فهمتُ الموتَ في تعريقهِ
The smiling dimple shows white above the soft cheek,

مزجَ المدامَ بريقهِ لما سقى
فسكرتُ من فَمِهِ ومن إبريقه
