If you knew the fire in my heart,
You would not ignite more fire with wood and coal.
O lofty home, you have stirred in me such yearning,
And increased my burning since I left your dwellings.
How often I secluded myself in you, engrossed in pleasures,
While the night donned a coat of thick darkness.
As if it was an ascetic monk wearing a wool robe,
Having girded his waist with a belt.
He passes around in it cups of restless comfort,
Circulating with his glances glances of magic.
