O Umar Nasr, you have stirred the dormant one,

After lethargy, the confused tongues were aroused,

Crying out to God, returning in fervor,

    David's Psalms anew in cycles,

Urged by the Bishop of Jerusalem, skilled,

With hymns and a zither among the bishops,

Her bishops were roused in the house of their altar,

And her monks in the courtyard of the monastery,

The tavern's wine, if you visit its tavern,

Revived its drinkers with lute and jar,

It sways like a branch in jet black tresses,

As if its picker is a body of tar,

Its spittle distracts you from the wine’s fragrance,

Quenching the thirst of the drinker of that bartender’s saliva,

Enticing hearts with it are glances of a saucy gazelle,

Bashfully glancing from the eyes of a sorceress.
