بأبي من وددته فافترقنا

وقضى اللَه بعد ذاك اجتماعا

By the one I loved we parted

And thereafter God decreed we meet again

فافترقنا حولاً فلما اجتمعنا

كان تسليمهُ عليَّ وداعا

We met again after some time

But his greeting to me was a farewell
