With myself a lover who does not tire of reproach
If I increase his excuses, he increases anger
He prolongs my suffering by testing my patience
And he knows the hidden parts which are concealed
So I do not confide in anyone else since I knew him
And I do not look except afraid and waiting
O you who commit sins, know that he
Trusts that I am not, in secret, sinful
Is not my humility an intercessor with your conscience
Sickness may be cured by the tormenting salt
