وبركة تزهى بنيلوفر

نسيمه يشبه ريح الحبيب

With lotus blossoms the pond is adorned,

Its breeze resembles a lover's breath,

حتى إذا الليل دنا وقته

ومالت الشمس لحين الغروب

Until the night draws near its time,

And the sun tilts towards sunset,

أطبق جفنيه على إلفه

وغاص في الماء حذار الرقيب

He closes his eyelids upon his intimacy,

And plunges into the water, wary of the watcher.
