جاءَتكَ اِبهامي وَسبابتي

تَشكُر ما أَوليتهُ خُنصري

My thumb and index finger have come to you

Thanking what I have granted to my little finger

فَالتَقتا في قلم ناطق

يُفصِح عَن شَكرهما المضمر

They met in an eloquent pen

Expressing their hidden gratitude

أَعانتا اِختهما بِالَّتي

سَطَرَتا لِلمَدح مِن أَسطُر

They aided their sister with which

Composed lines praising you

جَزاء ما أَوليتَها بِالَّذي

قَد زانَها مِن رائق الجَوهر

In return for what you have given her with that

Which adorned her with essence of jewel

أَلبَستَها فُصَّ عَقيق غَدا

يَزهى عَلى ياقوتَها الأَحمَر

You have clothed her with a red carnelian necklace

That glows over her red ruby
