فَطَرَبت طَربة فاسق متهتك

وَعَفَفتُ عفة ناسك مُتَحرج

I was disturbed with the disturbance of a debauched libertine,

And I restrained with the chastity of an ascetic filled with shame,

وَاللَهُ يَعلم كَيفَ كانَت عفَتي

ما بَينَ خلخال هُناكَ وَدُ ملج

And God knows how my chastity was

Between the anklet there and the cheek stained with tears.
