قد أتى العيد لا أتى

فلقد أنهج المهج

The feast has come, but it did not come,

For it has broken the heart,

ليس فيه لهاشمي

ي سرورٌ ولا فرج

There is no joy or solace for the Hashemite

It is the feast of the people of Q,

إنه عيد أهل ق

م وقاشان والكرج

And Qashan and Karaj,

Their faces meet

يتلاقى بياضهم

بقلوبٍ من السبج

With hearts of jet.
