Your mouth is still prosperous, oh Damietta

And your banana continues immersed in syrup

Oh, source of bananas and syrup which if

They get together would break my heart that returns repaired

Yearning took me from Egypt to you, so

Your yearning is still appreciated

Oh, delight of the eye, oh, questioner of hearts, you

Have amazed and refreshed a youth within you happy

You have contained the best sustenances

Sister banana, and dates, and syrup

And varieties of birds that differed

By my life fattened and sparrow

Cursed be the hand that threw stones at you and who

Protected you continues victorious with support
