1. Invoke blessings, and do not grow weary,

    upon the Prophet; and ask

  2. the Generous One for the choicest gift,

    and through blessings upon him seek a means of approach.

  3. Invoke blessings upon the Chosen One,

    the one for whom the moon was split,

  4. to whom the lizard indeed spoke,

    and toward whom the trees hastened.

  5. Water from between his two fingers

    gushed forth like a river;

  6. even stone would soften for him,

    and the palm trunk yearned—if only...

  7. O driver of the caravan, journey

    with the white camels toward al-Ajraʿ;

  8. water them from your eyes,

    from the wellspring of tears.

  9. And if you see the date palms

    of Ṭaybah, let your voice ring out,

  10. and cry: “O people, now

    the Beloved has appeared—dismount!”

  11. This is the Bearer of Glad Tidings, the Warner,

    the Elect, the Chosen One;

  12. this is the radiant lamp,

    the adornment of al-Ḥaṭīm and al-Ṣafā;

  13. this is the Helper, the Giver of Refuge,

    to whoever remains faithful to him;

  14. this is the Mighty, the Sublime,

    this is the Prophet, the Messenger.

  15. I wonder—will my eyes ever see

    his sanctuary, even if only in a dream,

  16. and will I say: “O Chosen One,

    upon you be the purest peace,

  17. O noblest of the prophets

    and of the honored messengers!”

  18. Far be it that anyone should be disappointed

    who cherishes a hope within your protection.

  19. This is he who, toward heaven,

    upon al-Burāq indeed ascended.

  20. And God—truly, by him—

    swore in the Reminder,

  21. and that blessings be invoked upon him

    He commanded, and indeed sent peace.

  22. Upon him be the purest blessing

    and the purest peace—invoke them beautifully.
