    Among the most beautiful bonds

  3. وغرّد بينها طير التهاني

    يُرجع مُنشداً في كل عود

    The birds of felicitations sang among them

    Returning with song in every verse

  4. ونادى مرحباً أهلاً وسهلاً

    بعَقد حلّ أحلى من عقيد

    Calling out welcome, hello there, greetings

    To a bond sweeter than faith

  5. به أمسى العرائس في أمان

    بقُرب الوصل من بعد الصدود

    With it the brides found safety

    In the nearness of union after estrangement

  6. به دارت سكاكر مع سُقاة

    كأقمار بأفلاك السعود

    Around it the cups revolved with the pourers

    Like moons in the orbits of Saudi

  7. تراها كلما نقصت وراحت

    أوانيها أتتها في مزيد

    You see them, whenever their vessels emptied

    They came back to them with more

  8. إذا صدروا بها من بعد ورد

    حلا لي كلما صدروا ورودي

    Whenever they set forth after roses

    My cups were filled whenever they brought roses

  9. ترافعت المناخر فيه لمّا

    تواضعت المقاعد للقعود

    The noses were raised in it when

    The seats were lowered for sitting

  10. وعطّرت الوجوه بطيب ريح

    تروح إذ تروح بنشر عود

    And the faces were scented with the fragrance

    Of incense spreading as it spreads its smoke

  11. إذا هبّت على الأرواح راحت

    تقول من الهنا أخَيّه عودي

    When it blows upon the souls, they rest

    Saying, from this bliss - my brother's wedding

  12. أدام اللَه أيام التهاني

    بأفراح العرائس في الوعود

    May God make the days of congratulations last

    With the brides' joys in their vows
