رأيت في النوم عسل

والموز فيه قد عام

I saw honey in my dream

Bananas swimming all around

كنّه سمك في برك

والقلب له قد هام

As if it were a fish in a pond

And my heart for it swooned

طلبت أنا أمسكه

استنبهت آه ما دام

I tried to grab and take

But alas, I awoke with a start

ضحك عليّ بقيت

ابكي عليه ما أنام

It laughed at me, I remained

Crying for it whene'er I depart
