غَرُبَت خَلائِقُكَ الحِسانُ غَريبَةً
وَرَمى الزَّمانُ دُنُوَّها بِبُعادِ
Your good manners have become estranged
And time has cast their intimacy far away
ذَهَبَت كَما ذَهَبَ الرَّبيعُ وَخَلَّفَت
قَيظَ المَقيلِ حَرارَةُ الأَكبادِ
They have gone just as spring went away
Leaving the heat of noon to burn the livers
