صَرَفتَ بِعَدلِكَ صَرفَ الزَّمانِ
وَأَحيَت عَطاياكَ مَيتَ الكَرَم
You turned the course of time with your justice,
And revived your generous gifts for the deceased nobility.
فَلا زالَ بِشرُكَ قَبلَ النَّوال
كَما ابتَسَمَ الغَيثُ ثُمَّ انسَجَم
So your goodness never ceases to be received,
As the rain smiled then poured down rapidly.
وَسَيفُكَ يَسبِقُ شَأوَ السَّحا
بِ ذاكَ بِماء وَهَذا بِدَم
And your sword precedes the brilliance of lightning,
One with water and the other with blood.
