    With Mu'adhdhal, continuing his excesses

The tale of his enmity is recounted against his foes

Like a tall spear, he wavers in his resolves

    And meanders in his whims

Full of vices, he leans into his sides

And his loves, comforts, and misfortunes

The hand of fate hastened upon him, and his return

Intoxicated with the wine of youth and its water

And his lapses followed one another, and sometimes

He stumbled over a whim from his opinions

Wondrous is the edge of the sword, how it struck him

And its sharpness in fright, not in its sharpening

And for Mus'ab who filled the world with his tumult

They led him after his authority and refusal

Whether they raise him, they have sung his praises

Or vilify him, they have sufficed with his virtues

Or if the enemies innovate against him, then a

Sunnah for fate proceeding against its peers

They will not rejoice in it - how many gloaters

Over his demise, though perhaps he still draws breath

O owner of the strange grave, and below it

Danger that makes distance in its groaning

The clouds remembered over your tomb a

Tie by which tears flow from their streams

And the winds breathed upon it, sick

From the heat of the fire of grief or its relief

I surely neglected you out of fear, and maybe

A friend neglects while you are still in his bosom
