الدَّهرُ مارَضتهُ بِالجودِ وَالباسِ

مُقَسَّمٌ بَينَ أَغراسٍ وَأَعراسِ

Time has not marred his generosity and dignity

Divided between blossoms and weddings

فَتحٌ تَعاقَبَهُ فَتحٌ ومُطَّلبٌ

داني المَنالِ ومُلكٌ ثابِتٌ راسي

Victory followed victory and more was sought

Near at hand and a firmly rooted eternal kingdom

نَصراً بِبُصرى وَصَفحاً عَن حَماةَ لَقَد

أَحسَنتَ لِلدّاءِ حَسماً أَيُّها الآسي

Support for Buṣrā and pardoning Ḥamāh indeed

You have aptly curbed the malady, O afflicted one

يا اِبْنَ الَّذي عَنَتِ الدُّنيا لِدَولَتِهِ

مِن فاطِمِيٍّ أعزّ بِهِ وَعبّاسي

O son of him whose state the world has refused out of jealousy

Of a Fatimid made mighty by it and an Abbasid
