You swore by the two curls that guaranteed
Their growth a quarter and their abode
Let the sun shine on her from your forehead, for she
Desires none but it to open her eyelids in sleep
So the horses are images rushing to their battle
And a plaything in the abode of her amusement
The rule of one to whom the country is submissive
And whose shade enveloped and enriched it
By none other does its splendor befit
Nor does it seek any but his protection
