Short of stride, with testicles set wide apart, scant of beard,
as though they were polecats fighting over meat.
I thought of the doves of high summer when I saw them
strutting around me in their greasy clothes.
And the Ḥumaysī women, in all their finery, display
vulvas like the hoofprints of young lambs and kids.
