وَلَو عَنَجوها بِالأَزِمةِ ساعَةً

وَلَو عَنَجوها بِالأَزِمةِ ساعَةً

وَرُبَّ هَوىً فيهِ الأَزِمَّةُ تُعنَجُ

وَرُبَّ هَوىً فيهِ الأَزِمَّةُ تُعنَجُ

For a time he has a proud, restive fit against the reins;

yet many a spell of gentleness is in him while the reins are drawn.
