لَقَد طالَما عَلَّلتَ حُجراً وَأَهلَهُ

بِأَعراضِ قَيسٍ يا سِنانُ إِبنَ جابِرِ

You have long blamed a rock and its people

For the misdeeds of Qais, O Sinan son of Jabir!

أَأَهجو قُرَيشاً ثُمَّ تَكرَهُ ريبَتي

وَيَسرِقُني عِرضي حُمَيسُ إِبنُ عامِرِ

Shall I satirize Quraysh, then you dislike my doubt,

While my honor steals me, Humays son of 'Amir!
