1. أَتانا عامَ سارَ بَنو كِلابٍ

    حَرامِيّونَ لَيسَ لَهُم حَرامُ

    A year came to us, the sons of dogs marched

    Brigands who have no shame

  2. كَأَنَّ بُيوتَهُم شَجَرٌ صِغارٌ

    بِقيعانٍ تَقيلُ بِها النَعامُ

    As if their houses were saplings

    In meadows grazed heavily by ostriches

  3. حَرامِيّونَ لا يَقرونَ ضَيفاً

    وَلا يَدرونَ ما خُلُقُ الكِرامِ

    Brigands who do not host a guest

    And know not the nature of generosity
