عَلَيكَ بِها مَعنيَّةً ذاتَ بُردَةًِ
شَكيرُ أَعالي رَأسِها مُتَطايِرُ
She unveils herself, cool and delicate.
The tips of her hair flutter in the wind.
لَها مِحجرانِ مِن جَرادٍ وَمِحجَرٌ
جَنَتهُ مِنهَ الكُرّاثِ خُضرُ المَكاسِرِ
Her eyes are a pair of locusts, with a third eye between.
Her cheek took its greenness from the locust's wing cases.
أَلا لا أُبالي قَولَ مَعدانَ بِالخَنى
إِذا وَسجَت بِيَ ذاتَ نِسعَينِ ضامِرُ
But I care not what the slanderers say of me,
If she of the supple body presses close to me.
