يا من تطيب وهو من حرق استه

قلق يكابد كل داء معضل

O you whose scent is fragrant, though from burning embers,

Anxiety endures, every stubborn malady fails.

فشل الصيال وما عهدنا دبره

مذ كان يفشل عن صيال الفيشل

The torrents have failed, we never knew them to cease,

Since the torrents of al-Fayshil ceased to flow.

وأراه فى الكتب الجليلة زاهدا

لا يستجيد سوى كتاب المدخل

And I see him in the glorious books an ascetic,

Skilled only in the book of the Introduction.

قبلته ولثمت فاه مسلما

لثم الصديق فم الصديق المجمل

I kissed him and licked his mouth, a Muslim,

The kiss of a friend on the mouth of the veiled friend.

فدنا الى على المكان وقال لى

أفديك من متشوق متغزل

He approached me in that place and said:

I sacrifice myself for a passionate lover,

ان كنت تلثمنى بحق فاسقنى

بلسان بطنك فى فمى من أسفل

If you truly kiss me, then quench my thirst

With your tongue in my mouth from below.
