وليتم فما أوليتم الناس طائلا

ولا حزتم شكرا ولا صنتم اجرا

Though being helpful deserves no blame or pain

Expecting neither gratitude nor gain

فان تفقدوا لا يؤلم الناس فقدكم

وان تذكروا لا يحسنوا لكم الذكرى

If absent, you'd not leave a void or ache

If remembered, none would your memory take
