تَحَرَّ مِنَ الأثوابِ أرْفَعها تَنَلْ

أعزَّ مَحلٍّ تَرتقي لالتماسِهِ

Seek the finest garments though they be beyond your reach

For they raise you to the most honored place you wish to attain

ولا تَبْغِ في أمرِ اللِّباسِ تَواضُعاً

فَعُنوانُ نُبْلِ المَرءِ حُسْنُ لِباسِهِ

Do not feign humility in your choice of attire
