1. للهِ حَمَّامٌ حَكَتْنِيْ حالُهُ

    ماءٌ يَصُوبُ وحَرُّ نارٍ تُضْرَمُ

    For God I have a dove that told me its condition:

    Water pouring and the heat of a blazing fire,

  2. فكأنَّما نِيرانُهُ ومِياهُهُ

    والجِسْمُ بينَهُما يَلَذُّ ويَنْعَمُ

    So it seems its fires and its waters

    Are the body between enjoying and luxuriating.

  3. قَلْبٌ تَقَلَّبَ بينَ لذَّاتِ الهَوى

    وحَشاهُ يَصْلى والمَدامِعُ تَسْجُمُ

    A heart tossed between the pleasures of passion

    And its worries pray while the tears flow.
