Ask me about my solitude, yet it is my companion
How fares the heartbroken after parting's eclipse?
In it his eyes saw no glimpse of light
Save the lamp's glow or the sun's radiance
He spends the night, awake, consumed with passion
Whether in its dark or at the break of dawn
Placing his hands upon his heart
Lost in his love, awaiting nightfall
For him, even singers sang their songs
Their words to him were but hushed whispers
