1. ومُستَوجِبِ الرَّعْيِ عِنْدَ الكِرامِ

    فَمَنْ غَضَّ مِنْهُ بِعلياهُ غَضّْ

    He who deserves the pasture by the generous

    So if he lowers his gaze from the heights lowered

  2. يَكونُ عَنِ الماءِ والتُّربِ أيْضاً

    ولَيْسَ بِجِسْمٍ فَيَحْوِي عَرَضْ

    He will also be away from the water and soil

    And not a body to contain honor

  3. وما إنْ يُحيكُ بهِ صارِمٌ

    وإن هَبَّ ريحٌ عليهِ انْتَفَضْ

    And if a sword strikes him

    And if a wind blows on him, he shakes

  4. وكَيْفَ قَرأْتَ حُرُوفَ اسْمِهِ

    من الجِهَتَيْنِ هَدَتْكَ الغَرَضْ
