أيا مُشارِكَ الرُّوحِ في جَسَدي

بل يا مُخَلِّصِيْ مِنْ يَدَيْ جَلَدِي

O you who share my spirit in my body

Rather, o my liberator from my shell

ما تَتَّقي اللهَ في ذَما دَنِفٍ

لم يَبْقَ منهُ شيءٌ سوى الكَمَدِ

Why do you fear God in blameworthy behavior

Nothing remains of it except ashes

مَهما يَرُمْ عَنْكَ الصَّبرَ مالَ بِهِ

ألحاظُكَ النَّفّاثاتُ فِي العُقَدِ

No matter how patience escapes you, incline towards it

Your penetrating glances in knots
