1. عَذِيْري من سَقيمِ المُقْلَتَيْنِ

    فما بِهِما لِخَلْقٍ مِنْ يَدَيْنِ

    My excuse is from the sick of the two eyelids

    For they have no hands for creation

  2. مريض اللّحظِ من رَمَدٍ وغُنْجٍ

    بَلا قَلْبي المَشُوقَ بِمَرضَتَيْنِ

    Sick of glance from rheum and conjunctivitis

    Without my longing heart with two sicknesses

  3. وما عَجبي لِصَوْلِهما شَهِيرَيْ

    نِ لكِنْ كَيْفَ صَالا مغمَدينِ

    And I am not surprised at their renowned illness

    But how did they become ill while sheathed
