Winter came veiled in its clouds

Greetings, O sultan of the seasons, welcome!

    Embroidered, embellished, exquisite and gilded

When the dew waters them generously

When the horses of the morning breeze clash with it

Fertile furrows of generosity in its wake

    Bearing fruits of every kind

    Everything craved is freely granted

    As lightning frolics and flickers

    Thus the seasons cycle successively

Till their beauty and order perfects

    Winter's substance and beauty derives

From what it gained from life and love
