1. شَقائِقُ النُّعْمان والباقِلا

    وَجْهٌ بِكَفِّ الحُسْن قد رُقِّشا

    The anemones and ranunculus

    A face with the palm of beauty embroidered

  2. كأنَّ هذِي وَجْنَةٌ خُمِّشَتْ

    وذا عِذارٌ فَوْقَها قَدْ وَشَى

    As if it were a garden trimmed

    And above it a veil that has been woven

  3. وناظِرُ النَّورِ بها ناظِرٌ

    يَرومُ أنْ يُبصِرَ ما خُمِّشا

    The beholder of light in it is a beholder

    Who tries to discern what was embroidered
