وقائمةٍ فِى يَدَي قائمٍ

تُحرِّكُ من شَعرِها الفاحِمِ

A palm with a palm

Stirring from her flaming hair

يُميِّلُها نَفسُ المُستقلُ

لها عن قضيب لها ناعمِ

Sways to his independent will

Against his soft and supple rod

وتحسبُها كجناح غُرابٍ

على رأسهِ طائرٍ حائمِ

You'd think it was a raven's wing

Above the head of a prowling bird
