Al-Rayy summoned me from afar, and I said to her:
May my tent pegs never be driven where humiliation comes to rest.
Hold off—for you will get from me nothing but a bridled mount,
prancing between my going forth and my return.
If I do not strike terror into you with dawn's cavalry, laden
with lions marshaled in the armorer's woven mail,
then may I find no friends of mine in your land,
and may my children be called nothing but orphans.
